Tuesday, June 13, 2006, is the date for the Legal Mutual 2006 Pro Bono Charity Golf Classic. This year’s tournament, our 7th, sports a new name, a new venue, a whole lot of fun, a great value and a great cause.
We’re playing The Bay Club, Berlin, Maryland, West Course, in conjunction with the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) Annual Meeting in Ocean City. Our tournament will be the “kick-off” event. Registration and box lunch begins at noon with a shotgun start promptly at 1:00 p.m. Then join us at the MSBA Welcome Reception at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel on Wednesday evening, June 14th, for the prize and trophy presentations! Remember all profit from the tournament benefits the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland (PBRC).
Our host hotel, the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, will give us the MSBA room rate for early check-in for this tournament but you must mention the MSBA when making your room reservations. To keep the cost down and maximize the charity contribution, the event will include a box lunch at noon, but no dinner this year. Drinks on the course from the roving carts are cash and carry. Player cost will only be $75.00 each ($50.00 for a Legal Mutual policyholder) and we’ve increased the number of golfers the sponsors can bring.
There will be no admission at the event without an advance paid reservation.
All par three holes will have hole-in-one prizes, trophies and closest-to-the-pin prize money. There will be trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and, new this year, last place foursomes; Men’s longest drive; and Women’s longest drive. We will also have handouts and door prizes.
Each golfer will receive a coupon good for a $125.00 value custom made Magique Rescue Wood, an M3 Ibrid, for only a shipping and handling charge of $29.95, courtesy of Legal Mutual and Hole-In-One International. Each player will also receive a golf hat and a sleeve of golf balls, as we have done in the past.
Sponsorship Levels are available as follows:
Gold Sponsor: $2,000.00 (includes 8 golfers)
Silver Sponsor: $1,000.00 (includes 4 golfers)
Bronze Sponsor: $750.00 (includes 2 golfers)
Hole Sponsor: $350.00 (includes 1 golfer)

We are also looking for door prize and handout contributions, so please let us know if you can contribute anything.
